SMS Consent & Messaging Policy

Elaine, operated by GorfTech LLC, is an AI phone receptionist that answers calls for small businesses. Elaine sends transactional SMS messages only: the details a caller asked for on a call, appointment notices, and one-time verification codes for elaine.chat. Elaine does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

How Users Opt In

Individuals call a business that uses Elaine. During the call, Elaine offers to text the caller details such as an appointment confirmation, an address or opening hours, and only proceeds if the caller says yes. Elaine texts only the number the caller is calling from.

All calls are recorded and transcribed; the recording is the record of the verbal request.

The caller then receives one opt-in request from the business's number:

"[Business name] (Elaine): Reply YES to get the text you asked for on your call, plus appointment details. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."

No further SMS messages are sent unless the individual replies YES to confirm consent.

Separately, a visitor to elaine.chat who wants to view their own demo call enters their phone number and receives a single one-time code ("Your Elaine demo code is 123456"). No other messages follow from that request.

Types of Messages

• Appointment confirmations, with the date, time and location
• Rescheduling notifications and cancellation notices
• Information requested on the call, such as an address or opening hours
• One-time verification codes for elaine.chat

Message frequency varies based on your appointment activity. Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.

Opt-Out

Reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS communications. You will receive one confirmation: "[Business name] (Elaine): You're unsubscribed and won't get more texts from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.

Consent Records

Consent records, including call recordings and transcripts associated with SMS opt-in, are securely stored for compliance and audit purposes and may be reviewed to verify consent if required by carriers or regulatory authorities.

Privacy

Elaine does not sell or share phone numbers or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. SMS consent and phone numbers collected for SMS communications are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
